Although the frigid Chicago temperatures may not always reflect spring, the season officially starts on March 20. Less than a month away, it’s time to turn our attention to spring cleaning our entire house – garage included. As Chicagoland garage builders, we understand the importance of having a clean garage. Empty Your Garage
This first step is very important. Taking everything out of your garage is a great way to simultaneously purge unnecessary items as well as thoroughly clean all of the nooks and crannies. Sweep the floor, clean the windows and wipe down shelves. From there, you will be able to better sort your materials into specific piles such as sell, donate, keep and toss.
Save Space However Possible
Mount bicycles, utilize shelving units and hang everything on the wall when possible. You’ll want every free square inch you can get when all’s said and done.
Critter Control
Make sure there are no accessible entrances that pesky animals can burrow into. Try to keep trash out of your garage and use a pesticide if necessary.
